Blade II

The sequel to the very popular adaptation of the vampire comic Blade is on its way, starring and produced by Wesley Snipes and directed by Guillermo Del Toro. "The first movie was a blockbuster; this one promises to be 10 times better than the original" according to Blade 2 rigging coordinator and Leavittation Project Manager Monty Simons.

The action and effects will be staggering. Monty Simons spent over six months filming in Prauge, Czech Republic before returning to Los Angeles for additional shooting. Leavittation helped provide the big wirework and ratchets required for the super-human script.

Desperate Measures

Michael Keaton rides the Leavittation High-Speed Descender down a 40 ft. vertical air-conditioning shaft. In this stunt the same descender also dropped a camera down the shaft giving close-up footage of Mr. Keaton's face, putting the actor in the center of the action. This is the same machine used on The Game, and was considered for an Academy Award.

The Fast and the Furious

Debbie had a chance to do some really great driving on The Fast And The Furious, a movie about hot rod import cars. She drove under a moving semi truck and out the other side and did a really fast turnover to conclude the scene. You can see these stunts in the movie's trailer, which is available to download on Fast and Furious' website, http://www.thefastandthefurious.com

The Game

Leavittation high-speed descender was used for a tricky high action stunt in the final climactic sequence of the film.

Gone in 60 Seconds

Remake of the 1970's drive in special about a car thief who could steel any car in 60 seconds. The concept is to create an excuse to have a bunch of car chases and wrecks!

Leavittation VP Debbie Evans rides the new MV Agusta superbike. When she was given the bike, the producers asked her to be sure not to scratch it because it is one of only two in the United States.

The main work went well, even though she was leaning the bike at full speed on wet, oily pavement while making quick maneuvers. Debbie had a "close call," however, while doing a full-speed ride through the set for a sound recording of the motorcycle. In the middle of the run, a man talking on a cell phone walked out between two buildings into Debbie's path. She swerved to avoid hitting him, but then got into an uncontrollable "speed wobble" heading strait toward a water truck! She somehow managed to miss the truck, but Debbie said that is the closest she's come to eating it in a long time.

Jeepers Creepers 2

The StuntRev.com Stunt Team spent 2.5 months working on the next installment of Jeepers Creepers. Our part in the film included stunt co-ordination by Monty Simons, the stunt Creeper played by Darrin Prescott, and flying the creeper and its victims done by our wire team led by Lane Leavitt. The making of DVD extra features was also covered by our stuntrev staff, with video editing and production done by Steven Leavitt. We have an excellent making of in the works, however, we cannot sneak preview until given permission by the studios. Action includes some huge vertical and twisting ratchets from a variety of percarious situations. We also created some spooky new wire moves with our newest high-speed winch system. Technologically, this was a breakthrough film for stuntwork. The script and character gave us the opportunity to do a lot of stunts never seen before. We consider ourselves fortunate to have this Victor Salva written and directed script come to us at this time.

Peaceful Warrior

We're very excited about the feature film version of the popular book "Way of the Peaceful Warrior." We believe this movie has the potential of being the greatest gymnastics movie of all time. Our crew had the opportunity to work with US Olympic Team members and create some amazing wire rigs to simulate our actors on gymnastics equipment doing routines for close-ups. We also had the opportunity to stage an amazing and creative motorcycle crash that is the pivotal event of the story.

Phantoms

The feature film Phantoms contains some of the most unique ratchet shots that we have ever done, including the use of our new V.T.O.P. system! The Leavittation-developed V.T.O.P. (Variable Take-off Position) ratchet allows the stunt man to start in any position and move vertically or horizontally and to act and do the stunt without a cut!

The Postman

Leavittation descenders were used to create a very high action bridge sequence.

We put Kevin Costner in the center of the action by letting him ride one of our deaccellerators for the beginning shot of the bridge sequence!

Leavittation ratchets were used to launch a horse and its rider into a river.

Recoil

This low-budget action feature took advantage of some of our latest composite stunt technology. One scene uses the Carram to flip a car on its side while a stunt man burns and is ratcheted ten feet in the air and forty-five feet out while being deaccellerated down to the ground unhurt. This is called compostite stunts.

Swordfish

The biggest Ratchet shot of all time. 21 separate ratchets were used to fly 21 stuntmen through the air for an explosion scene on this new John Travolta film. This is a bullet-time shot like the one first done on the Chevy Truck commercial, and made famous in the Matrix. All the cameras and ratchets where joined to a computer allowing exact timing of all the stunts, FX and cameras. The scene will run at 300 frames per second, which is over 3 times faster than normal camera speed, causing the shot to be in very slow motion. The explosion at this speed will last for 30 seconds, allowing the stunts in the shot to be the featured part in the scene. Never before has ANY explosion scene had so many elements! Every department; from stunts to FX and Visual FX are being pushed beyond what has ever been done.

Leavittation's stunt crew also found work on other parts of the movie. Scott Rogers crahsed an SUV into a bunch of parked cars. For another of the movie's high action sequences, hundreds of stunt people were suspended in the air inside of a bus, including Leavittation's Debbie Evans Leavitt.

Viva Rock Vegas

Of all the movies we've had the pleasure to work on, this film had the most fabulous sets we have ever worked in. They were so elaborate, walking through them made us feel like we were really in Bedrock!

We had the opportunity to do some really big ratchets and airramps which fit well in to the cartoon theme of this movie. It's fun to be over the top and bigger than life with the action and still stay within the confines of the script.

Stunt Coordinator Mary Albee, Donna Evans, and Lane Leavitt teamed up to create a killer car-hit using our articulated puppeteered dummy. Using a cleaver overlap technique the actress was seamlessly edited from walking to the dummy hit and back to the stunt-double hitting the ground, creating a shockingly real-looking vehicular homicide.

The BMW jump is real! The Germans have added some of the most seamless digital computer effects ever done to add to some of the background action. Some of Hollywood's top computer animation effects artists were unable to tell what was real and what was digital when they watched the footage!

Action Concept and Leavittation combining forces has set a new standard for television action in Europe. Many more joint projects are now in the works between American and German production companies, opening up a new age of European and American co-operation.

Leavittation project manager Monty Simmons was recently in Germany doing another high action show directing second unit.

From the Earth to the Moon

Our rigging crew made the pilgrimage to Edwards Airforce Base (one of NASA's flight test centers) for the HBO T.V. series From the Earth to the Moon. We helped recreate Neal Armstrong's crash of the "Lunar Lander" trainer. Our production company and NASA found an actual "Lunar Lander" trainer that had been forgotten in the weeds for over 30 years. It was renovated for our show and afterwards was shipped directly to the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C.

Medium

Long time Leavittation project manager Monty Simons is currently coordinating the hit TV series Medium. The series allows us to recreate crimes and accidents which the heroin solves with her psychic powers.

The biggest sequence so far has been the re-creation of a suicide where a woman jumps off a cliff. In this episode Monty and Lane placed and safetied the actress on the end of a cliff and setup a high-fall and deaccelerator fall for the actress in front of a green screen.
